I'm printing out my own versions of the Space Hulk floor tiles and mounting them on foamcore. I DO NOT want to have to carve out each little link-up thing perfectly on the board pieces so I'm thinking of putting black borders around each board section and connecting them ala-Warhammer Quest style. In WHQ there are plastic door pieces to do this. Anyone know of a substitute object that I could use to hold the pieces together? Wouldn't need to be fancy, just something to hold it in place. I was just thinking there might be some kind of object you can get at a hardware store or something, that someone might know of.

How about glueing refrigerator magnets to the bottoms at the corners and using other magnets or a thin metal sheet to connect them??

I thought about magnets, but I want to have the flexibility to be able to connect the board sections at any place without having to use fixed connection points. I do have some metal sheet but also think that combined with magnets could spell doom for foam core after a short while. I'm trying to think if I've seen any kind of clip or connector piece that might be perfect, but if such a thing is out there or there's a way to construct one myself I am lost.

i have had the samething in mind!
please tell us if you have come any further.
i was thinking of using cardboard and glue paper with some tiles on. then using stuff from the real board game and move around the playground.
or buy the Doom game with expansion. where everything comes ready..
maybe not so 40kish..

alright, so it's been over two years since my original post. haha. funny to look back and see the kinds of things i was trying. well, i never got around to completing this project - i DID mount the printed out pieces onto foam core, but that's as far as i got. however, i got a great idea for this from (of all people) my mom which, now that i'm getting ready to build a new gaming table, i might try:
apparently they sell magnetic paint at certain craft or hardware stores. it shouldn't be too hard to find. anyway, got some flat magnetic strips with adhesive backing and stuck them to the bottom of the foam core. then i suppose i could paint over the top of the game board with black magnetic paint and wham. a modular hulk! if and when i do actually try this, i'll try to come back and update this thread (hopefully it will take less than two years this time)

Are you also applying this idea to the new spacehulk tiles?
i.e. creating new ones from the new ones?
