Guys
Valkyrie or Vendetta is it worth it? thoughts please?
because my only concern is since it is a threat to the opponent its the first one to be gunned down.

Depends. I like them both. heh
Valks are good since they can move 12 and shoot 2 Large blasts and their multi laser. They can carry Demo. Vets that have the anti-tank potential. So The Valk carries the whole package.
Vedettas have a lot of slightly less mobile firepower, but pack much punch that hurts mechanized armies. Depends what you already got in the list honestly.

Only fast vehicles I know that can go flat-out and still be able to disembark their cargo.

They're abit fragile though.

The risk can be mitigated. After all the deployment of troops is the same as deep striking, so it ain't that bad.

True. Though I would highly suggest keeping both types of gunship away from heavyflamers; so as not to tempt fate.
I've seen at least six times either a sternguard w/Heavyflamer/ or Terminator w/Heavyflamer/ go and walk up to the ship and toast it's belly good 'n crispy.
Needless to say Valk's and 'detta's are somewhat flammable.

I never played or played against a IG army before, and in China though many people played IG cause of the low prices but there AREN'T many people around have such heavy vehicles like Valkyrie. But I DO see Tau devilfishes be shot out of sky in the first turn with the fire warriors still lock inside the pressure doors. Never trust your dedicated transports to survive the first turn; unless your opponent has other convincing target to shoot at, or, more reasonable, just drop the fireteam outside the immdediately threat area. I guess the Valkyrie is more of a fire support rule, am I right? So just take one's time to drop your valuable "cargo" first and then give them hell  _________________ Can I live to see that day when furious Sons of Russ fight along side the remorseless fire caste?
