Check it out.

I think some people will rejoice, while others will be outraged.

Mainly because GW puts up FAQ's, then 5th ed comes out and then GW says new faq's when all they really did was put in a couple of things for 5th ed.

As for us BA, we had a small codex change, Captains in termi Armour can take combi weapons, Mephistons transfixing gaze, which att first glance seems to be a downgrade from the older one, but then if you acctually used the power, you know how the old one was really worthless. Damn I was hoping these changes would have came into place

1.Pair of power fists option for BA veterans (and commanders respectivly)
2.Honour Guard able to get 5 more men into the unit

Well now with new 5th Ed rules, Commander Dante is more worth taking then a chaplin, as the new preffered enemy rules are now for re-rolling to hit, Chappys are worthless.

With new 5th ed rules, they are, Commander Dante gives every friendly unit (meaning If I am playing with a ally with tyranids or what not....) Preffered enemy, now with new 5th ed rules this means that they re-roll to hit in cc, making Lemartes for that matter not worth taking seeing that they can only re-roll to hit on the charge.

Good point on Preferred Enemy, but doesn't Lemartes have other qualities about him? I don't have a BA codex handy here.

You can get the BA codex online, the only use he had in 4th ed was to be a jump chappy with 3 wounds, he cost 5 more points then a chappy with a jump pack and had 3 wounds, Ld 10 and reduced enemy leadership by 1 along with all the chappy things. Now with the new preffered enemy rules he isen't that useful when compared to Dante.

Heh! Only one guy has 2 powerfists right now, and that would be Lord Calgar!

On another point, GW was actually able to nerf the GK. Thier Assault cannons are still Heavy 3, and not Heavy 4 Rending like the rest of them. Psycannons now only ignore invulnerable saves(as it should have been), but was one of the only things going for them. Holy Rage got nerfed for the WH. If rumor is correct, DH/WH won't get codices for about 3-5 years. Sucks to be an Inquisitor right now.

Ok here is a list of things that should have happened to the BA

1.Vets and commanders get pairs of power fists
2.Mephiston getting a invulnerable save
3.Make DC cheaper

No in fact the costs for DC are included in the squads that give you a free DC except for terminators. Or you could pay for the DC indivually, which are still 30 points each, which with the new FNP rules they should be cheaper.

I'm a little upset with the fact that fleet does not allow you to assault from a moving transport.
I'm fairly certain you can run after disembarking, so why wouldn't you be able to assault?
Then again most of the game is geared for marines, so this could be considered a compromise.

Also....

So bloody happy that Psychic powers do not effect units within transports.

Ref. Doom of Malentai.

How does the Doom of Malantai get hurt by not using psychic powers in a transport? He disembarks from his as soon as it lands....

Also, whats with all this "marines are getting all the love" bs? I've yet to see a situation where the rules actually favor marines; the only good thing we've gotten in the last 10 years is the 5E SM Codex; the rules are against elite armies right now...

Uh, Blood Angels? Ridiculously overpowered as far as I'm concerned. Not to mention out of the codexes released in the last 6 months have been marines.

Prof was stating that you can hide in transports to avoid the Doom of Malantai. Not that he can't use his powers because he is in a spore.

The Blood Angels are ridiculously overpowered. They're just the next level of the game. They've done the same thing with every codex prior and are going to do with every codex coming up in the future. The new book will always be better. That's something that we as GW gamers know. The only reason we complain about it is because its something to complain about.

Ok, I have to remember that when non-SM players say "SM" they assume ALL of the codecies. I'm a Space Marine player, so when BA, DA, SW, BT, etc get awesome, I don't like to be lumped in with 'em.

As for the power curve; it's a general truth, though some things are more extreme then others. I'm much more upset by the drastic change in continuity then in the power creep that everyone knows will be there.

Blood Angels are cool....

But I can still take them with vanilla marines.

The biggest issue between Blood Angels and standard marines is that if you were to draw up a balanced marine list it would be better and cheaper in the blood angel codex.

Everyone says the stormraven is scary overpowered. I'll agree, but as for me? I think what is really overpowered is the fact that their vindis are a fast vehicle in their codex.

It really doesn't make sense that the bloodangels can field more landraiders than the blacktemplar.

I'm sure ork armies are more than a little afraid of the dreadnought lightning claws.

Successive wounds for each failed save? Yeesh!

The mini TH Dropships arent all THAT bad, really. The vindis are gross, the cheaper (and better!) Devestators bother me, their HQs are stupidly good, and the Assault Marine troop slots are great, not to mention the awesomeness of Sanguinary Guard (with a 6" bubble of FNP and FC)...all the stuff people (glances at skunk) thought was gonna be bad really isnt; it's the little stuff that nickle and dimes ya into the ground that gets me.

Hey man I complained about the Storm Raven because wave serpents don't belong in a blood angels army. That and it is a solid unit.

A let-down for the BA codex - Death Company. Cost a lot and can't capture objectives. No thanks. Assault Squads for the win.

good; after 2 editions of DC being wildly over powered I'm happy to see them get a nerf. Not only do they cost a bunch AND not hold objectives, but they Rage even if tied to a chappy. Finally!

Unfortunately they now have the ability to go toe-to-toe with nob bikers and the equivalent uber units. You could effectively build an army around a Death Co squad, but it is akin to putting all your eggs in one basket.

They always could go toe to toe with nobz; the only reason they can do it is the fists, really, and anyone can do that. Mephiston will do it about a thousand times better, though. And the DC will almost never be able to line up on the bikers unless the ork wants 'em to, thanks to the Rage

Spacemarine vehicles shouldn't be able to do what eldar stuff does.
